I attended my first birth in 1984. Observing the struggle of labor followed by the miraculous beauty and perfection of new life, I wept and was forever transformed; it instantly filled me with the love of birth and its calling. I pursued my training through ALACE and have been supporting births as a doula since 1991. I am also a licensed massage therapist, and am currently working towards my midwifery license.
Having walked alongside hundreds of birthing women, I view postpartum as a sacred yet vulnerable time. Support of all types makes it a more positive and whole experience that in turn increases the woman’s empowerment and the bonding with her baby. Over the years, witnessing first hand the benefits of women who have ingested their placenta, has convinced me of its power and has motivated me to help make it available to all women. Encapsulation is such a practical way to do so.
I am a proud mother of three; two daughters and a son. I enjoy gourmet vegan cooking, travel, hikes in the hills and long strolls along the beach. I speak both English and Spanish.
